What is Laparoscopic Gastric Surgery?

Laparoscopic Gastric surgery is used in Gastric Hernia and Reflux Disease. In patients with gastric hernia (hiatal hernia), gastric acid causes damage to the mucosal part of the lower esophagus. In order to prevent gastric acid from escaping into the esophagus, gastric hernia is treated and a new gastric valve is formed. Currently, laparoscopic surgery is the gold standard in the surgical treatment of gastric hernia and reflux. The surgery is operated laparoscip by entering through three 1 cm and two 5 mm incision on the abdominal wall with cameras.

In addition, laparoscopic surgery can be performed in benign tumors of the stomach.

Laparoscopic Gastric Surgery

Postoperative;

Patients usually stay in hospital for 1 or 2 days. Since the operation is performed by laparoscopic method, the pain is very low. Patients may be given liquid foods after 6 hours. After it is observed that there is no swallowing difficulty, it is gradually switched to pure and normal foods. Patients can return to work after a 3-day home rest.
